Game of Thrones RISk board game, based on the epic HBO series, features some extra dimension to the regular Risk formula. Now, the game comes with not one, but two boards — Westeros and Essos – to include factions of noble Houses vying for control of Westeros during the time of The War of the Five Kings, as well as Daenerys Targaryen’s rise to power in Essos.
Up to seven people can play. It also comes with its fair share of playing bits, including 315 army pieces, 188 cards, 63 tokens, 75 gold coins and nine dice.
Here’s a review by one satisfied Amazon customer: “One of the biggest problems with the original RISK game was how long it took, compounded by the fact that it really wasn’t playable by just two players. Enter Risk: Game of Thrones, which is like three games in one huge box. You can play a multiplayer game (using Westeros or both Westeros and Essos if you have lots of players), the same game in a less-traditional, more GoT style using cards and gold, or a two player version where you can be House Targaryen or the Ghiscari slavers and duke it out for control of Essos. So if you think this is a lot of money to pay for “a board game,” keep in mind it’s actually three games in one. And all three are totally AWESOME…”
