Description

The Top That Toast card game is a social game that celebrates the beauty of human expression by prompting people to stand up and give their best toasts. It started off as a Kickstarter project in 2015.

What’s In The Box

The party game consists of two decks of cards: 50 Tone Cards and 200 Topic Cards.

• 50 TONE CARDS dictate the style and tone of each toast

• 200 TOPIC CARDS from which you can draw inspiration

The cards are 2.5 x 3.5″, poker-sized cards – professionally printed and digitally cut so they’re easy to use and made to last.

How To Play

All players begin the game by drawing 5 Topic Cards. The oldest player in the group begins as the “Facilitoaster.”

The Facilitoaster begins each round by drawing a Tone Card, which determines the tone or style of the toast (some examples include “Humor,” “Sincere,” “Tearjerker,” and “Roast”). All other players respond by submitting a Topic Card in hand, face-down on the table, that they think is the best match for the Tone Card drawn by the Facilitoaster. The Facilitoaster then reads the Topic Cards aloud and picks a particular Topic Card that, in his or her opinion, best matches the Tone Card and deserves to be toasted. The player who submitted that Topic Card wins a Tone Card for that round and the chance to deliver the toast!

There are additional competitive aspects of the game. In the event that 2 or more of the same Topic Card is submitted in a round, the Facilitoaster has the option to call for a Toast Off, where the players who submitted the same Topic Card each give a toast. The Facilitoaster will award the Tone Card to the player who gave the best toast.

After the round, the discarded Topic Cards are placed at the bottom of the deck. Everyone draws a new Topic Card, and the next player becomes the Facilitoaster. Once a player has won a pre-determined number of Tone Cards, that player wins the game!

Why It’s Fun

The excitement of the game lies in the unique combinations of Tone and Topic cards. Some people are the serious type and like to be Sincere. Others are more sarcastic and like giving a good Roast. Some of us are emotional and end up telling a real Tearjerker. While others are a little shy and may be more comfortable giving a short, Ten-Word Toast. With over 1,000 card combination possibilities, there’s really something for everyone. And as the rounds go on, the confidence in each player grows.

It’s a one-of-a-kind game where players can truly express feelings of happiness, love, humor, nostalgia, and gratitude just by speaking their mind. You get to share good vibes and laughs with family & friends through spontaneity and creativity. Since it’s portable, it’s great to play at house parties, BBQs, birthdays, and hangouts with friends.
